Mark Hatfield is the managing director of Chevron Australia and head of the Australasia business unit located in Perth, Western Australia.
Mark is responsible for Chevron's upstream interests and activities in Australia. This includes leading the development and operations of the Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas projects; participating interests in the North West Shelf Venture; oil production operation on Barrow Island; and exploration and appraisal activities offshore Australia.
Most recently responsible for Chevron’s deepwater exploration and production activities in the Gulf of Mexico, Mark brings more than three decades of experience to Australia, including roles as general manager of Strategy and Planning for Chevron’s global upstream business and general manager of Strategy and Planning for Chevron North America Exploration and Production.
Mark joined Chevron in 1982 as a production engineer in New Orleans after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. In 1992, he earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of New Orleans.
Pat is the General Manager Gas Marketing for Chevron Australia based in Peth, Western Australia. He is responsible for Domestic Gas Marketing, LNG Scheduling and support of Chevron’s global Gas Supply and Trading business.
Pat joined Chevron in 2007 as part of the Gorgon Project and has undertaken a number of commercial and analytical roles in Perth. This includes experience in the LNG commercial and origination space through roles in both the Northwest Shelf project and Chevron Singapore.
Pat has over 25 years in the upstream oil and gas industry including global engineering, operational and business development roles in Australia, Europe and South East Asia. He graduated from the University of NSW, with an honours degree in Petroleum Engineering and has undertaken post graduate studies in Finance.
Laura Boudreau is the general manager of Capital Projects for Chevron Australia, located in Perth, Western Australia. She leads the Capital Projects team to develop and execute some of the largest and most complex projects in Chevron's Australian business unit.
Laura has more than 20 years of technology and capital project experience with Chevron and has held roles including vice president of Global Technology at Chevron Oronite in Richmond, California, general manager of Project Delivery at Chevron Technology Centre, and project director for several projects, such as the Gorgon Stage Two project and the Indonesian Deep Water Development portfolio.
Laura holds a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Steve Callaghan is the General Manager of Finance with Chevron Australia Pty Ltd based in Perth. Chevron Australia is a global natural gas supplier, and operator of oil production, LNG, condensate, and domestic gas assets in Western Australia.
Steve completed his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree in Edith Cowan University Perth Australia and is a CPA. His twenty-two-year career with Chevron spans various Finance and Management roles across the USA, Indonesia, Australia and most recently the Philippines where he was the General Manager of Chevron Holdings Incorporated (CHI), as GM CHI he was responsible for managing the 1,600+ person multi-functional shared service centre.
Lorne Chambers is the General Manager of Chevron Australia Downstream, responsible for the Australian retail network of more than 360 locations primarily under the Caltex and Puma brands, three seaboard import terminals and lubricant sales and distribution.
Prior to this, Lorne was General Manager, Corporate Affairs for Downstream & Chemicals. He led a global team supporting the Downstream business in the areas of stakeholder engagement, government affairs and advocacy, social investment, media relations, and internal and external communications.
Previously Lorne was General Manager – Retail West, responsible for leading Chevron’s Retail organisation covering the Western USA, Canada and Mexico, which includes sales of over 300 MBD and approximately 4,000 branded retail locations. Lorne has also held several positions across different segments of Chevron’s business including General Manager Corporate Planning, Advisor to the President of Supply and Trading, Retail District Sales Manager in the Western USA, Retail Pricing Manager for North America, and Fuels and Lubricants Sales Manager for Canada.
Lorne started his career with Esso (Exxon-Mobil) in the Upstream then later refining. He joined Chevron in 1994 within the Marketing organisation at Chevron Canada Limited in Vancouver, British Columbia. Lorne earned an MBA from the University of Alberta in 1989 plus a CPA designation.
Lorne is married with two sons. He is active in several different sports including golf, hiking and running.
David Fallon is the General Manager of Energy Transition for Chevron Australia located in Perth, Western Australia. Key responsibilities of the Energy Transition team include managing efforts to reduce the carbon intensity of Chevron Australia’s assets and working collaboratively with Chevron’s New Energies organisation to evaluate and progress new lower carbon business opportunities in Australia.
David joined Chevron Australia in 2010 as a Facilities Engineer in the non-operated joint venture (NOJV) team before moving into a NOJV Facilities Team Lead role, where he acted as Chevron’s technical representative for the North West Shelf Project. He subsequently worked on Wheatstone as Production Planning Team Lead based in Perth followed by a site-based leadership role supporting the start-up of Trains 1 and 2. He also worked at Gorgon as Systems Manager.
Prior to joining Chevron, David worked in a variety of operational and engineering roles for Woodside in both Karratha and Perth and Shell in Sydney.
David holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Queensland.
Wes is responsible for business development in upstream, value chain strategy implementation, commercial support for asset development, major capital projects and operations, joint venture interface, as well as LNG and domestic gas lifting coordination.
Wes joined Chevron in 2020 from Noble Energy and most recently served as General Manager, Gas Marketing and Commercial, within Chevron Mediterranean Limited in Israel.
Wes has held a diverse range of leadership roles in commercial, marketing and asset development in Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Cyprus, Israel and the United States.
Born and educated in the United States, Wes received a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and MBA / Master’s of International Relations degrees from Yale University.
Michelle LaPoint is the General Manager of Asset Development for Chevron Australia located in Perth, Western Australia. The Asset Development Team is responsible for Chevron Australia’s exploration and appraisal, new field development planning, drilling and completions, subsurface support for major capital projects, technology and subsurface digital, and reservoir / production management for producing assets.
Prior to joining Chevron Australia in April 2022, Michelle was based in Houston, USA, where she was the General Manager of Enterprise Digital Delivery. In this role she was responsible for transforming enterprise processes and systems across the energy value chain. Primary areas included both Chevron’s ERP transformation program and advancing lower carbon aspirations through technology.
Michelle has also served as the Surface Digital Platform Manager in Houston, USA, Operations Support Manager for Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC) in Luanda, Angola, Advisor to Jay Johnson, Executive VP – Upstream in San Ramon, USA, Subsurface Team Lead for the Tahiti Major Capital Projects in the Gulf of Mexico, and Strategic Growth Manager of Western Venezuela.
Michelle joined Chevron in 2002 as a petroleum engineer. She earned her bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University in 2001.
Peter McNally is the managing counsel of Chevron Australia located in Perth, Western Australia. Peter is responsible for leading the Negotiations and Legal team.
Peter joined Chevron Australia in 2006 and has provided legal support to most areas of Chevron’s upstream business in Australia. Most recently Peter served as Law Manager based in Chengdu, China since 2017.
Before joining Chevron, Peter worked for Woodside Energy Ltd and a leading national law firm. Peter assumed his current role with Chevron Australia on February 1, 2021.
He has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science with majors in Chemistry and Extractive Metallurgy from Murdoch University.
Kristi is the General Manager of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) for Chevron Australia located in Perth, Western Australia. The HSE team conducts a range of activities and provides services dedicated to protecting the well-being of Chevron’s people and assets, the environment, and surrounding communities.
Kristi received a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Auburn University in 1998. Over her twenty-year career, Kristi supported a wide variety of HSE matters across various chemical and oil and gas manufacturing businesses in the USA before coming to Australia in 2023. Most recently, Kristi supported Chevron’s corporate Human Resources team as sponsor for the development of HSE professionals across Chevron. Prior to that, she served as the OE/HSE Manager for Chevron’s Pascagoula Refinery located in Mississippi, USA.
Matt Riordan is the Senior Manager of Human Resources for Upstream Australia.
Matt joined Chevron in 2011 as the Industrial Relations Manager for the Gorgon project in Upstream’s Australia Business Unit. He has held subsequent roles in the US as the HR Manager for Midstream’s Chevron Shipping business, and in Singapore as the HR Manager for Downstream’s International Products business. Prior to his current role he was Senior HR Manager for Business HR Operations across Australia, Asia and Eurasia.
Matt holds University degrees in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations, and an MBA from the University of Western Australia. He has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resource management.
Across his career Matt has been a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion.
Kathryn Sydney-Smith is the general manager of Corporate Affairs for Chevron Australia located in Perth, Western Australia. Kathryn is responsible for legislative and regulatory advocacy, external and internal communications, community and stakeholder engagement and reputation.
Kathryn received her Bachelor’s degree in Science (Hons), Masters in Physical and Health Education from the University of Western Australia and Masters of Marketing from Monash University and worked in the mining and community sector before joining Chevron in 2011 as Community Engagement Manager based in Perth.
She has since held numerous corporate affairs and commercial leadership roles of increasing responsibility in Singapore, the United States and Australia.
Danny Woodall is the Director of Operations for Chevron Australia, located in Perth, Western Australia. He is responsible for overseeing the safe and reliable operations of the Gorgon LNG, Wheatstone LNG, WA Oil and domestic gas assets. Before taking on this role, Danny was the general manager of Richmond Refinery in California.
Danny joined Chevron Corporation in 2001 as a Process Engineer and has since held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Angola, France, Korea and the United States. Danny received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
