Cultural Architects and Advisory Committee to One The Esplanade, Chevron Australia’s headquarters

The artwork in this Auditorium represents the energy that we collectively gave from our hearts to reflect on the past, the present and the future in acknowledging our ancestors — our people — our connection — our land.

Built on the traditional country of the owners of this land, it is a place to gather together, celebrate achievements, and share information.

Chevron respectfully acknowledges the traditional owners of this land and invited three leading members of the Noongar community to offer this formal Welcome to Country on behalf of their Peoples.

This sculptural artwork also commemorates the opening of One The Esplanade in 2023.

The words honoured in this artwork were composed by Barry, Carol and Kim. Barry then heightened the design to reflect the markings made on Noongar implements, symbolising cultural significance and connections.

A ceremonial message stick has many reasons for use and carries many messages as a form of communication between Nations.

For thousands of years this place has been a place of gathering.

This artwork enshrines this message today and forever more.
