Gorgon and Wheatstone greenhouse gas conditions set net zero by 2050
Chevron Australia will continue pursuing activities to lower the carbon intensity of natural gas production at its Gorgon and Wheatstone facilities. The Western Australian Minister for Environment has determined new greenhouse gas conditions for the Wheatstone facility, near Onslow, which require scope one net emissions to be reduced to net zero by 2050. This follows similar conditions for the Gorgon facility on Barrow Island that were determined in October 2022.
