feature supporting activ through 2020 city to surf cancellation

2019 Chevron City to Surf for Activ

Chevron Australia, together with long-term partner the Activ Foundation, have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Chevron City to Surf for Activ.

The cancellation of the event – due to take place in August this year – was guided by ongoing physical distancing and large group gathering advice issued by the Australian and WA Governments.

Team Chevron Captain and General Manager Finance Jake Spiering said while we are saddened not to share in the excitement of this much-loved community fun run, the health and safety of the WA community comes first.

The Chevron City to Surf for Activ, is the Activ Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event, with donations raised directed to care and support services for WA families living with disability.

“Chevron Australia has committed to continue its support for Activ during this difficult time through a company donation and employee matched giving program,” Mr Spiering said.

“Team Chevron are showing their support and celebrating the nostalgic tradition of our largest workforce event by making generous contributions - matched by the company 2:1.”
